Souper Bowl of Caring

More than 20 years ago, the Souper Bowl of Caring began with a simple prayer from a single youth group:
"Lord, as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us to be mindful of those without even a bowl of soup to eat."
Since that day, more than $60 million has been raised for local charities across the country through the Souper Bowl of Caring. It has become a powerful movement that is transforming Super Bowl weekend into the the nation's largest youth-led weekend of giving and serving.
The Souper Bowl of Caring occurs every year on the same Sunday as the NFL's Super Bowl. The Souper Bowl is traditionally led by youth in local congregations. The youth hold soup kettles, and banging spoons against them, stand at sanctuary exits following worship services on that Sunday. They collect $1 from each attendee to support hunger fighting efforts.
Please support the RIFA Soup Kitchen with a Souper Bowl of Caring drive in your church. Contributions may be mailed to RIFA or made online.
RIFA Soup Kitchen is open 365 days a year, providing hot, nutritious meals to the homeless, the disabled, the working and the non-working poor. In 2010 the RIFA Soup Kitchen served over 49,000 meals to those in need. This is only possible with supporters like you!
