RIFA  Thrift Store

RIFA Thrift Store provides useful, donated household items and clothing to the public at low cost.  RIFA helps clothe those who are transitioning from welfare to work. The Thrift Store pricing enables even one on a very limited income to purchase good, useable clothing and furnishings.  Net profits from the thrift store help fund RIFA's various outreach programs.

  Your donations of household goods allows RIFA the opportunity to help families and individuals in crisis situations by providing, at no cost to them, furniture, appliances, clothing, pots and pans, dishes, and other items to establish a home.  Recipients of free goods are victims of house fire, or theft, a recovering addict receiving out-patient care at local treatment centers, or members of an abusive household who had to flee their home quickly.

We cooperate with other local social service agencies and provide necessities for their clients at no cost.

In order to help the community we serve, we accept donations of good used merchandise.  Refrigerators, furniture, linens, microwave ovens, kitchen utensils, and pots and pans are examples of ongoing needs.   For large furniture that will not fit in your vehicle, we provide a pick up service on Wednesdays and Thursdays.  Call 731-427-7963 to schedule a pick up.  We can accept only items in good condition.

Volunteer opportunities abound for sorting, pricing, or merchandising the RIFA Thrift Store.  Volunteer groups work daily, each choosing one day  for two or more hours per week to return to RIFA.  One group is multi-denomination, one group goes out for brunch afterwards, some groups are made up of members from one church only, and all groups are made up of men and women.  If you would like to join one of these groups - or form your own group for a weekday of your choice, please call Shaun Powers at 731-427-7963.
